I ended up married to a man with ASD for various reasons and after having a daughter on the spectrum and a son showing he was confirmed that is what my husband is. We don't have a real relationship and great misunderstanding ended up happening. But if my daughter is happy and successful and can take care of herself, then that will be so much to be thankful for. It would help you to focus on how well she is doing. Congratulate her. She has worked incredibly hard and that is what ASDers need. They thrive on showing that despite condition they can succeed. The ones who are able to are really contented with that. She is probably fine. But hearing you boast how proud you are of it will stay with her when she has to let you go and help her through.

I can somewhat understand where you coming from, my daughter four just found out she autistic. She was the best baby, like you said real calm no fussy, very quiet. My second daughter, sooo full of energy, wears me real bad, she's opposite of her sister. I'm thankful, we decided to have another child, worry of my first, since we have a small family.
