Sue, thank you so much for your comments about lupus. I felt exactly the same way you have expressed. I was embarrassed by the debilitating aches and pains that made me unable to walk and ascend steps without a cane--and I was only a young and vivacious 53 at the time. And in spite of my queries to my internal medicine physician, It took more than a year to diagnose the problem, and I was practically in a wheelchair when he finally authorized ANA tests...
