Dear Please Help
by: Anonymous

My son is around the same age as your daughter and they sound very similar. Some days he will do or try to say something new, and some days nothing at all. DON'T GIVE UP.. Just keep trying and moving forward with her. Treat her like a person and like she understands you and repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat everything you say to her, even when she pulls you to objects -- this is my son's major form of communication. He is nonverbal, but will say some words when prompted. He does know what things ae if I ask him to point to a cow he will point to the cow, etc. It's repeation, understanding, love, love, love. We are always making sure my son is never alone, we constantly talk to him and follow him around and although he has his major "autistic" days where he demands to watch the same movie all day long and do nothing else -- they are very few and far between. We talk, talk, talk, show, show, show, and we do it softly. He has fits when we are going somewhere unexpected or driving on a different route, but talking softly to him will sooth him, of course unless he is tired which is typical for a 3 1/2 year old. Our son does not have any dairy products, but that is about the only diet restriction. We have seen a great improvement in his eye contact, empathy level and awareness by doing so.. Good luck and just keeping going you're doing great and so is your daughter....

wish i could

My Kaylee is five as of April. She doesn't say a word. She pulls us or pushes in and out of rooms! She loves jumping and throwing herself on the bed and playing with things with her fingers, bouncing them up and down. I just read the beginning of this article and found out that she is unconsciously trying 2 dull the pain in her brain. I'm so sad now, I thought she was doing these things 2 be happy and now I find this out! My daughter is severe and I wish you the best. It's a long grueling road and I'm saddened to realize our government allows these vaccines containing mercury in them. When something is supposed to be helpful and turns out so harmful it's a disgraceful society of government and doctors, that just care about the money in their dam pockets! They had her on abilify which helped her mood and then she was diagnosed epileptic weeks ago after having 15 seizures in one day. Now she is on kepra which stopped the seizures, but now her behavior is truly devastating to watch. Thanks and god bless. 2!jaybirdsnothome@hotmail.com

Your daughter like mine!!!

WOW!!! You just describe exactly what my four yr old is doing, and has the exact problem!

Do research, call public schools see they'll help her for free speech therapy.

My daughter is going to start out that first.

Keep Trying!
by: Anonymous2

My son had a delayed in speech. At four years old, people couldn't understand him. I'd noticed when he was 2 that he had limited vocabulary. So, I started taking him to speech therapy at age 2 1/2 and also repeated the sessions at home daily. He went to therapy until about age 6. Since then, he speaks fine and his social life and behavior improved as a result. Now at age 13, he is a straight A student who has a lot of friends. Keep trying! Every bit of effort makes a difference.

our blessings
by: Anonymous

Our daughter started pt and ot at age four with some speech therapy weekly until she was 10. I say the sooner the better. If we had gotten her in at 3 she may be even better. She is loving kind gentle and a straight A student in regular school. She does have as associate with her at school to stay on task but my advice to you as a parent who questioned her daughters abilities since age 2 and finally got somewhere taking her to an ot/pt to be looked at outside the pediatrician by age 4......she improved drastically......the sooner the better! We also do fish oil....digestive enzymes and probiotics with her.....don't know what does and doesn't help....but will try anything to make her a little better. She is now a thriving 12 year old. social situation are still difficult at times....but I'd rather she chatted too much than not at all!!! At 3 she barely spoke.

good luck to you and your family! the one person in your life that will never judge you (or anyone else)is your precious daughter.
