BOOP to UIP
by: Wendy

turned 40 last year and the mother of 2 daughters. had same exact symptoms and was put on 60mg of predisone. worked for 4 weeks and then i progessively went back to my initail symtoms. was referred to pulmunologist wh noticed by fingers right away. they were clubbing (nails begin to round or point downward) and had lung biopsy is diagnosed as UIP and i am currently on 4 liters oxygen 24/7.
currently being worked up for lung transplant. i would suggest if your family doc is not helpful find a specialist who can get u better informed and/or worked up. it is my understanding with my condition that there is really no cure and transplant is the last resort.
i am hoping that i can sustain what lungs i have left for sometime before the transplant becomes my only option due to from what i am told, life expectancy after transplant may only be 5-10 years.
hope this helps.

could it be astma?
by: george

Did you try ventolin inhaler? prevention better than cure so see your surrounding interior and outdoor. 100 percent clean air you need. Best thing is strong winds coming directly from the sea deep breaths, most times of the day. I'm no doctor, just basic common sense and it worked for my asthma living day by day by the sea is the best medicine.
