My precious Mother

About 2 months ago my mother was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. She started this health decline in May 2010 with Double Lung Pneumonia. As I do believe in conventional medical treatment, I feel my mother wasn't treated aggressively enough for her age. I found myself becoming an Advocate over her health condition. My mother and I were searching for reasons to how this came about. At her age of 72 and history of smoking and some environmental exposures and also a past history of pneumonia, her treatment was very basic and vague. All she was given was antibiotic therapy and that's it. Then I step in and back track with the start of the illness. He doctors didn 't compile an complete and thorough medical history and we were calling on them requesting testing. How frustrating. Then she was given inhalers. Next they send us into Boston because they say a lung biopsy is the best at this point. So we meet with the Pulmonologist at a reputable hospital in Boston. I went along with my mother. I was in disbelief as to what he came up with for her diagnosis and didn't go into her medial history at all or request any further testing for any underlying diseases that are assoicated with IPF. So we go home in shock of the health care system in itself and try to come to terms that in fact my mother has a difficult disease to treat. With much research and hours online, I was able to find some natural rememdies. I'm in the dental field and study patient disease as a part of clinical treatment. I knew that without inflammation scarring can't occur so I decided to talk these rememdies over with my mother. She has been on a remedy of papain, trysin, bromelain and serrapetase. We started out slow and then went aggressive. Her Pulmonary Function test show a functioning lung mechanics with a low diffustion capacity. Prior to her rememdies, when she exerted herself her oxy would drop and take a while to rise. She does have O2 therapy to help. Now we notice her O2 level rise quickly on it's own and her energy is back. She does tire easy but now with need an exercise regime to build up body mass and weight she as lost. My mother raised us on her own and struggled so much she is a fighter and seeing her go through this makes me amazed at how strong a person she really is. She is frustrated a bit and gets discouraged but every good day she has brings us that much closer to getting her life back more. I love her dearly and respect her courage. I will help and may need to do more research or visit with a homeopathic doctor which is next on our list.
