still feeling hopeless
by: laura

I'm 32 years old and have had fibro since I was in my early 20's. My ANA test came back positive a few months ago, and my doctor thought Lupus. After years of hearing it's all in my head or it's depression, and seeing many different anti depressants give me side effects that were intolerable, I finally have a diagnoses. But I'm still not happy with that because nobody seems to know what to do about it. I'm in pain everyday, and it hurts so bad to get up in the morning. I even was fired from my job because I was unable to even take an X-ray! I feel hopeless and have tried many different drugs and therapy to help me with no success. I don't know what to do anymore but just be depressed and think it will never stop. The pain gets so tiring and severe, joints and stomach especially. I don't want pain meds forever so what do I do?

Laura,
Don't give up. Reread this report on Lupus. Understand that this is an autoimmune disorder usually with a bacterial or viral underlying problem which causes the inflammation and thus the pain.
