I was diagnosed with severe osteo at age 49. I am talking about -4 plus T-scores. The worst is my left femoral neck at -5. I have been on Forteo for one year and have one year to go. I have been to the only osteo clinic in our area who specializes in this disorder and was told that with even two years (the max allowed for this drug) the optimum increase is 14%.
I have broken 10 vetebrae (some twice), both arms, a wrist, bones in my feet and mult ribs. I have been on everything from 50,000 IUs of D a week to 2,000 IUs a day
Every thyroid test (blood) has come back normal, yet both mother and grandmother and my sister have had their thyroids removed.
The pain is unbearable most of the time and I am sick of living on pain killers and muscle relaxers just to get through a work day. I can no longer lay on my back, sit on the floor or in the bathtub and have a 0 pound lifting restriction from the neurosurgeon (who could not help me)
I have severe bulging discs at 4 levels starting at L-2 that press on nerves most of the time at this point they can not be fixed because there is no solid bone to attach any repair to.
My lst dexa was done at the same place I have had it done for the last 5 years and they could no longer measure density they had to do an average of what was there before.
The fear of breaking a hip is almost overwelming at times.
Would this treatment help as promised, or are my bones too far gone ??????
I would appreciate any advise
This protocol is guaranteed after one year. If there is no bone density increase, your money for the product is refunded. That makes it worth trying.
