Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapy

I was a substitute teacher in a preschool funded by the school district, when I was called to be an aid for a child with autism spectrum disorder.
I was trained by the special education team and their board certified applied behavioral analysist. Most of my training was Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)to be used with the child in a classroom setting and in his one on one programming sessions. As this team collaborated with the regular education teachers, this child succeeded in the mainstream classroom. ABA therapy, combined with music therapy, speech, physical and occupational therapies offered many ways to aid in that success! I highly recommend any, or all of these treatments to any one affected by autism. To be able to help these children function to their highest potential is so rewarding! I am grateful for that opportunity!

Thank you for your story! The more attention our children can recieve, the better.
